TEXSILK fabric: low carbon footprint and PFAS-free

At TEXSILK, we calculate our carbon footprint every year. Since 2020, we’ve been part of a program from the Catalan government aimed at reducing our carbon emissions annually.

We’re proud to share the carbon footprint of our TEXSILK Olefin outdoor fabric: 1.32 kg CO2 eq per square meter.

To put this into perspective, here’s how TEXSILK compares to other common textile materials
(source: Hemp Foundation):

TEXSILK: 1.32 kg CO2 eq
Linen: 2.25 kg CO2 eq
Polyester: 3.20 kg CO2 eq
Polyamide: 3.62 kg CO2 eq
Cotton: 4.15 kg CO2 eq
Acrylic: 5.76 kg CO2 eq

These figures are averages for each material type; individual companies may achieve lower footprints through initiatives like solar energy, sustainable practices, etc.

Also, we’re excited to share that all our fabrics are now PFAS-free — another step forward in our sustainability journey.
